  • Member Check-In Meeting: Thursday, June 2 — RSVP

    At this member meeting, Tourism Whistler will present its winter season end results, the current spring and summer resort pace, an update on conference and group business, and provide an overview of the summer festival and events line up.

Annual General Meeting — May 5, 2022

The 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Whistler Resort Association, dba Tourism Whistler, was held virtually on Thursday, May 5, 2022. During the meeting, Tourism Whistler reviewed its 2021 performance, strategy and financials and announced the results of the Election of Directors.

During this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented: winter performance results to date and the summer forecast, spring dining and wellness initiatives, details on the spring and summer marketing campaigns, an update on the recruitment campaign, and a travel trade update on winter EBO efforts and summer market intelligence.

Member Check-In — December 8, 2021

During this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented: resort summer performance results and an updated winter forecast, feedback from tour operators regarding omicron and testing concerns, an update from whistler.com and visitor services, an overview of the various winter campaigns currently in market, a travel media update, key findings from recent dining capacity and operations survey, and finally an update on the current and upcoming winter holiday programming and animation in resort.

Member Check-In — September 23, 2021

During this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented a performance review of summer 2021 followed by an update on the pace and forecast for winter 2021/22. Research insights into travel intentions for the upcoming winter season were also shared. The communications’ department provided an overview of the available planning resources for travellers on whistler.com. A summary of fall activities and events was followed by a marketing update on the fall, arts and culture, and winter campaigns. The marketing department also shared a new recruiting initiative developed in partnership with the Whistler Chamber of Commerce. Finally, an update on the whistler.com pace and Conference Centre group pace were provided including insights from the travel trade department.

Member Check-In — June 3, 2021

In this meeting, Tourism Whistler started by providing an overview and messaging guidance on BC’s Restart Plan. The Research Department, followed with a summer 2021 pace update and data from the most recent community and visitor pulse surveys. An overview of the summer BC recovery campaign followed along with updates from Destination Development on traveller safety and confidence, visitor dispersion efforts, and upcoming events and experiences. The meeting concluded with an update from Conference Sales and Travel Trade.

All Member Update — May 6, 2021

During this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented a review of winter results as well as an update on pace and summer 2021 outlook. An explanation regarding Tourism Whistler’s research data sources was followed by an overview of the Destination Development department and its 2021 plans. Marketing also provided content highlights and details on the upcoming summer marketing campaigns. The meeting concluded with an update on 2021 initiatives from conference sales, travel trade and whistler.com

Member Check-In — March 25, 2021

During this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented an overview of resort performance results followed by an updated summer forecast. Research data on travel expectations was provided along with information on the upcoming summer planning operations from the RMOW. An update on spring and summer campaigns followed by an update on booking pace and operations from whistler.com. The meeting wrapped up with an update on the vaccination program rollout at the Whistler Conference Centre.

Member Check-In — February 25, 2021

In this meeting, Tourism Whistler presented an overview of performance results followed by a summary of winter pace and summer 2021 expectations. Data from a recent survey on travel expectations from the BC, other Canadian and international markets was also provided. The Communications Department provided an update on the Ski BC Strong and Ski Well, Be Well campaigns followed by a marketing update on Tourism Whistler’s Support Local campaign. The meeting ended with an update from Destination Development on upcoming spring and summer visitor experience initiatives.

Member Check-In — January 28, 2021

During this meeting, Mayor Jack Crompton and the Tourism Whistler Communications Department provided an update on the current COVID-19 situation in Whistler along with a review of community resources and information available. Following, the Tourism Whistler Research Department provided an overview of the current winter pace and forecast. Information on visitor education efforts was also provided by the Destination Development Department followed by an update on Tourism Whistler’s remarketing campaign.
